| |  Small-Breed Dogs in Need of Homes - Available for Adoption Saturday, January 30th at 11:00 a.m.
Update: Most of these little dogs were adopted over the weekend. There are still a few in need of homes. Staff and volunteers at the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region braved the snowy weather Thursday afternoon and drove to Broomfield to pick up 25 small-breed dogs that flew in on Pet Airways from the Los Angeles area. Many of the dogs will be available for adoption on Saturday, January 30th at 11:00 a.m. You may view photos of the available dogs starting at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 29th by clicking here. We expect a high volume of customers so please be advised that the adoption process will take several hours. The population of small-breed dogs in the Los Angeles area has increased over the last few years causing animal shelters to become inundated. Since small-breed dogs are highly desirable in the Pikes Peak Region, we saw an opportunity to assist shelters in California and help meet the needs of adopters in our community. Thanks to a generous donor, the cost of flying the dogs to Colorado was covered. However, additional financial support is needed to help with the spay & neuter surgeries and the loving care they will receive at the shelter. Please click on the button below to make a donation.
