Court-ordered Community Service
Thank you for your interest in completing your court-ordered community service here at the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR). Please note that you must be at least 18 years of age and must also be registered with Front Range Community Service (719-442-2201) in order to be accepted. Also, we do not accept felonies or violence/theft related charges.
Please know that we require a minimum of 24 hours served at our facility. So, if you only are required to do 20 hours by the courts, you will still be required to work 24 hours here. Available shifts are 7am – 12pm Monday – Sunday. Also, the work you will be performing is janitorial. You will not be handling the animals. If you would like to work with the animals, we encourage you to come back and go through our training as a regular volunteer. Please go to the Becoming a Volunteer section for more information regarding becoming a regular volunteer. We post signups for Volunteer Information Sessions approximately every 6 weeks.
In order to get started with us, you will need to complete an online application and make a request to Front Range Community Service to have your timesheet faxed to us. This must be completed before you call and schedule a training day. Initial training is typically available Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday. Contact Allison Bird to coordinate a schedule before coming in; if you are not scheduled, you will not be allowed to enter the building. Once you have completed your training, we will be happy to schedule the rest of your hours with us.
Please understand that it is your responsibility to contact Allison by phone at 719.302.8759 or email in order to schedule your training day. Submitting your application and requesting your timesheet to be faxed does not warrant obligation on behalf of HSPPR to contact you.
To summarize, your steps to complete are:
- Read the Community Service Quick Checklist. Please pay special attention to our attendance policies.
- Contact Front Range Community Service and ask them to fax us your timesheet.
