All dogs and cats over the age of 4 months must be licensed. Licenses for service animals are free.

City of Fountain
All dogs over the age of 4 months must be licensed. Cat licensing is strongly encouraged. Licenses for service animals are free.

Town of Monument
All dogs and cats over the age of 4 months must be licensed. Licenses for service animals are free.

A license may be obtained:

Online 

  1. Locate and have available your pet's rabies certificate AND proof of spay/neuter (if applicable).

  2. Click here to access the online license application. Secure payment can be made via Visa or MasterCard. 

  3. Print your receipt to serve as a temporary license. Please allow 3 - 6 weeks for processing and to receive your tag. Upon receiving your tag, securely attach it to your pet's collar. 

At Participating Veterinarians 

Regular veterinary care is essential to the health and well being of our beloved pets. Our local veterinary partners can also help you license your pets. Just ask your veterinarian during your next visit. Payment can be made at the clinic and you'll receive your tag immediately.

At HSPPR

  1. Print and complete the license form. 

  2. Turn in your completed license form, as well as proof of rabies vaccination AND proof of spay/neuter (if applicable), at HSPPR's adoption center or admissions/lost and found center during normal business hours. Payment by cash, Visa, MasterCard, or certified funds is accepted.

  3. You'll receive your tag immediately. Be sure to securely attach it to your pet's collar. 

By Mail

  1. Print and complete the license form.

  2. Provide proof of rabies vaccination AND proof of spay/neuter (if applicable), along with payment and any applicable late fees by check or certified funds made out to: HSPPR.
