Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) hosted the 27th annual Fur Ball gala, “Wizard of Paws – A Night in the Emerald City” at DoubleTree by Hilton on Saturday, May 11th. The event was the Humane Society’s most successful yet, raising $681,000 to help homeless animals in the Pikes Peak Region.

Fur Ball is HSPPR’s largest fundraising event of the year with a record number of over 500 supporters in attendance in 2024. Funds raised at the event help support programs and services for animals entering the shelter needing new homes, as well as subsidizing costs for publicly owned pets to receive low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, wellness exams, and vaccinations.

“Once again, we had a fantastic turnout of incredible supporters at Fur Ball this year who care so deeply for the pets of our community, ” says Duane Adams, HSPPR President & CEO. “We are so grateful to our community members and their support for helping HSPPR raise over $681,000 to care for over 27,000 animals each year.”

Fur Ball was supported by Better Together sponsors: All Pro Capital, Animal ER Care, The Broadmoor, Chief Petroleum Co., Fetch Pet Insurance, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Cane Johnson, and Phil Long Ford of Motor City.
