Meet HSPPR Spokescat Waffles!

Waffles|Brown Tiger|5 years old|Daughter of Julia and Joel Simmons

Hey, hey, fan club. It’s your girl, Waffles! I’m the new spokescat for HSPPR, and I’m a rescue just like all my kitty friends. My parents were lucky enough to spot me at an adoption fair in California when I was a kitten. They already had a pet menagerie at home, but they just couldn’t resist. I mean, could you? I’m pretty wonderful, if I do say so myself. So yep, I’ve got it pretty good here. I’ve got three kitty sisters: Mochi, Kaimuki, and Kula, and of course, my dog brother, Shark. They all love me, of course. All they have to do is see me coming, and they will vacate any bed they’re in. And if they don’t, well, I remind them who I am by playfully batting their ears a bit. We have so much fun together!

I also help keep my humans in line. They really couldn’t survive without me. Mom would freeze to death without me in bed by her side every night. She gets lots of work done with me on her computer, helping supervise every day. Or sometimes I’ll lie on her paperwork to make sure it doesn’t run off. Good thing I’m so great at time management! It’s a busy schedule I keep, what with making sure the lizards in the backyard don’t attack my family. I sit on a big rock in the backyard and catch those scaly jerks if they set one foot out of their hiding spot. I also take care of all our foster kittens! They need to be shown the ways of the world, and it’s my duty to get them started on the right paw. No, it has nothing to do with the extra kitten food I get out of it.

How does my family repay my kindness? One word. Temptations. Cat treats are my guilty pleasure. Occasionally, my family doesn’t give me enough, but don’t worry about me. I’m an independent gal who takes care of herself! If the cookies are in the pantry, I just climb up and help myself. If they are behind some other items, not to worry, I’ll just move them out of the way onto the floor. Much more convenient anyway. My family absolutely loves my redecorating skills!

How do you get as lucky as my family is, you ask? Well, that’s easy! You just visit www.hsppr.org/adopt and pick out the perfect new kitty friend. My family and I are BIG supporters of HSPPR. They spend so much time serving, I mean, caring for my kitty friends! They give my mom all those foster kittens for me to take care of, AND they spay and neuter all my friends too. Not just my friends, but they make sure every cat in the community has access to spays and neuters at their facility or in their new Wellness Waggin’! Getting spayed is SO important. Cats as busy and important as me don’t have time to be pregnant!

You can show HSPPR you care about their great work just as much as I do. Click here to make a donation so the caring folks at HSPPR can help even more lost and homeless animals!
