Eagle & Girl Scout Projects

The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) is pleased to work with Eagle Scouts in the region to offer options for the completion of their Eagle Scout project. We offer Eagle Scouts two projects that support our Community Cats Program. These projects benefit our local feral cats in Colorado Springs by providing them with a warm shelter, or a safe enclosed place to eat. Typically, coordinating a group to help you construct 7-8 shelters or 10-20 feeding perches meets the requirements for an Eagle Scout project to display leadership skills as well as aid the Colorado Springs community. Due to varying weather conditions of Colorado, we request that feeding perches be fully enclosed on three sides. This is an addition to the original instructions, and not included in the above link. Plywood used to enclose the perch on three sides is sufficient to protect from the elements. Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns.
