Join paws and celebrate Colorado Gives Day* by giving the animals at Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region a warm hug!
Anesthesia causes body temperature to drop in pets. With more than 30 surgeries performed in our accredited veterinary hospital each day, we have a flurry of cats and dogs and bunnies and more coming out of anesthesia who need help making sure their body temperatures don’t dip too low. That’s why our veterinary team places our recovering critters under a special piece of equipment called a Bair Hugger, which regulates and propels warm air into a big pillow. This sustained heat source creates a safe and cozy environment for animals to recuperate.
Whether following a spay or neuter surgery, or even a leg amputation, providing this warm “hug” makes for a speedy recovery. Your donation this Colorado Gives Day will provide us with the new Bair Huggers we need in our veterinary clinic.
*Colorado Gives Day is an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving.
