Spay/ Neuter Program

Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region is proud to offer a donor subsidized spay/neuter program for qualified pet owners. Through this program, we hope to help decrease the pet overpopulation in the Pikes Peak Region and save more lives. If you are interested in getting your dog spay/neutered, you must qualify for this program based on your income or participation in select government programs. Income qualification is not required for cats.

Income Qualifications

Income Qualification is no longer required for cat spay/neuter surgeries. If you have a dog that you want to have spayed/neutered, you must be income qualified. Click here for fees.

Pre-Surgery Requirements for Animals

Dogs and cats at least eight weeks of age and at least two pounds are eligible for surgery. Vaccinations are required for animals 16 weeks and younger. We strongly recommend all animals being vaccinated two weeks prior to surgery (if their vaccinations are not already current) to help protect against exposure to infectious diseases. If your pet needs vaccinations, they are available at HSPPR's Surgery Center by appointment only. Please note, effective January 1, 2014, we will be requiring current rabies vaccination on all animals prior to or at the time of surgery due to several recent cases of rabies in our community. You will be required to show proof of current rabies vaccination if your pet is already vaccinated for rabies. If your pet is not currently vaccinated for rabies, we will be offering the vaccine for $10.00 during your surgery appointment. For the safety of your pet and our community, non-vaccinated animals will not be eligible for surgery.

Animals must be dropped off between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. and picked up between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. the same day. For more information or to schedule a vaccination or surgery appointment, call (719) 302-8795. We accept cash, Visa, and MasterCard. Sorry, checks are not accepted.
