Continuing a Legacy
Golden Hearts Society members follow in the footsteps of HSPPR’s trailblazing co-founders, Charles and Hazel Abbot. In the late 1940s, amidst Colorado Springs’ expansion, they saw the need for a dedicated organization for animal welfare and public safety. Their spirit led to the creation of HSPPR in 1949—a legacy the Golden Hearts Society proudly upholds.
