Get to know me

Meet Blondie! Blondie can be a little grumpy with new people and will need some time and patience to warm up and settle into his new home. Once he feels safe and comfortable, though, he is a total snuggle bug who loves being around his people, curling up in a lap, and watching shows together.

Blondie enjoys daily walks and does well on both shorter strolls and longer adventures. He is also comfortable sleeping in his kennel at night. He has done well with the other dogs in his foster home and mostly leaves the cat alone. He seems to enjoy having a friendly canine companion around and does better when he isn’t left completely alone. Blondie can be protective of his chew toys, so giving everyone their own space and resources will be important.

Blondie is still working on potty training and will benefit from frequent potty breaks, patience, and a consistent routine in his new home. Because he can be wary of unfamiliar people and may be a little protective of his favorite person at first, a mature, adult-only household would be best. His new family should focus on creating positive interactions with everyone in the home while giving Blondie plenty of time and space to decompress and build confidence.

With a little time, patience, and understanding, Blondie will make a loving and loyal companion. Once you’ve earned his trust, get ready for plenty of lap snuggles!

I’m currently in a loving foster home offsite! Please contact my foster parent, Kristen, at csfostermom@gmail.com to inquire about me or set up a visit! Please allow up to 24 hours for my foster parent to respond.

Inquiries are answered in the order received, and the foster parent will let you know your place in line if there are other interested adopters.

A meet-and-greet is required before adoption. Adopters should be available to meet within 48 hours of inquiring; otherwise, preference may be given to the next person in line who can meet sooner.

For everyone’s safety, current pets are not able to meet the foster animal before adoption.

After the meet-and-greet, you will have 24 hours to visit the HSPPR Adoptions Lobby (11:00am–4:30pm) to complete paperwork and finalize the adoption.

Scam Alert

The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region has experienced a scam in which people missing their pets receive phone calls from someone pretending to represent our shelter and requesting payment over the phone. Please be aware that HSPPR will never request payment over the phone or through Venmo before returning your pet. We will also never ask you to send verification codes or mention anything about pet trackers on Instagram, WhatsApp, or other messaging platforms. If you receive a suspicious call, do not share any personal information. Instead, visit our Admissions office and speak with a staff member in person to verify any claims.

Woof, we’re having technical difficulties!

Unfortunately we can’t display our adoptable pets right now due to a technical issue. Don’t worry – all our furry friends are safe and waiting to meet you at the shelter! Please visit us in person to find your perfect match.
