October 16, 2024, Colorado Springs, CO— The Board of Directors of Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kelley Likes as President & CEO, effective immediately. Likes was previously HSPPR’s Vice President of Philanthropy for the past seven years and has served as Interim President & CEO since June.

“To say that I’m honored and humbled to be HSPPR’s next President & CEO is an understatement,” said Likes. “I’ve been part of this organization for the past seven years and am grateful to serve the staff, volunteers, and community in this capacity. I’m thrilled to lead an incredible team to make our community an even better place for pets!”

Kelley Likes has more than 15 years of nonprofit experience, is a Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE), and is a Certified Animal Welfare Administrator (CAWA). Prior to moving into the President & CEO role at Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, she spent seven years overseeing the philanthropy team at the organization. In her role, she worked closely with her team to develop exceptional fundraising, communications, volunteer, youth education, and internal communications programs. Before joining HSPPR, she worked for a large social services agency, OhioGuidestone, located in Cleveland, Ohio, managing their annual fund, planned giving, fundraising events, corporate sponsorships, and community relations. She also played a role in developing the agency’s major gift program and hiring additional staff to grow the philanthropy team. Kelley’s additional career experiences include grant writing, managing the marketing program of a small psychiatry practice, and working as an adult probation officer. Kelley holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in business administration from Baldwin Wallace University.

“I am thrilled to announce Kelley Likes as our new CEO,” said HSPPR Board Chair Taryn Simental. “Her remarkable leadership within our organization has already inspired great progress, and we are confident that her vision will propel us forward to new heights. We look forward to a bright future under her guidance.”
