On December 31, our Colorado Springs location will close at 5:00 p.m., and our Pueblo location will close at 4:00 p.m. On January 1, adoptions at both locations will be closed. Admissions and Lost and Found will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and Animal Law Enforcement will be available for emergencies.

Animal Law Enforcement Records Request Form

Please read the following instructions carefully before completing the form. If your request is approved, you will receive an email with payment instructions. The fee is $25 per activity, which includes one copy of all reports related to a single activity. If additional evidence, such as photos, is requested, it will be provided at no extra charge. However, each additional activity involving the same victim or defendant requires a separate $25 fee. To protect privacy, certain details will be redacted, including identifying information of anonymous requesters, non-complaining witnesses, and protected individuals. Additionally, names of juveniles, home addresses and descriptions, phone numbers, email addresses, employer details, and personal identifiers such as Social Security numbers, driver’s licenses, and state ID numbers will be removed. Vehicle details, including license plates and identifying features, will also be redacted.

Who can receive records: the victim/complaining party, the defendant, or their legal counsel. Who cannot receive records: friends, family, landlords, witnesses, neighbors, people with another case against the same defendant.
To process a request, at least one of the following pieces of information must be provided: the activity number, bite number, animal ID number, date and location of occurrence, victim’s name, or defendant’s or complainant’s name. General requests for "all records" cannot be fulfilled, and incomplete requests will not be approved.
