If you’re looking for a tiny dog with the energy of a toddler after birthday cake, meet Cupcake—or, as her friends call her, Cakey.
Cakey is equal parts cuddle bug, comedian, and tiny chaos gremlin. She’s still very much a puppy, which means plenty of zoomies, chewing, questionable life choices, and the occasional play bite as she learns that not everyone enjoys being nibbled on. The good news? She’s highly food motivated, making training much easier.
She absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion. She isn’t picky about size—her current best friend is a 50-pound American Bully mix who happily wrestles with her. She also lives with cats and a preschooler and is learning that cats are not, in fact, meant to be chased.
She recently had bilateral knee surgery to fix kneecaps that kept slipping out of place and is recovering beautifully. Her housebreaking took a bit of a backslide during recovery, so she’ll need some patience as she gets back into the routine. Don’t let her little legs fool you—Cakey is a fantastic adventure buddy and loves going camping just as much as she loves curling up on the couch afterward.
When left alone, Cakey does well when confined and would likely do great in a crate, though she’ll bark a bit when you first leave. When you come home, however, expect a reunion worthy of a stadium concert. Cakey greets her people with screams that hit octaves capable of putting Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande to shame. Fortunately, all it takes is being picked up and told you missed her too for the banshee routine to end.
At the end of the day, Cakey just wants to play hard, adventure hard, snuggle even harder, and sleep in bed with her favorite people. If you’re looking for a hilarious little sidekick who will keep you laughing whether you’re camping under the stars or relaxing at home, Cakey is ready to meet you. Contact her foster parents, Allison & Joshua, at waldvogel0724@gmail.com to set up a visit or inquire further. Please give Allison & Joshua 24 hours to respond.
