When she first arrived in foster, she was considered a “spicy” kitten. With patience and a calm environment, she has made incredible progress! The only “spicy” thing left about her is that she may give a quick hiss when someone first enters the room, and she can still be a little jumpy at first. As soon as she realizes it’s mealtime, though, she’s all excited meows!
She allows herself to be picked up, though she may initially run off to hide if she’s feeling unsure. She has a great appetite, loves to play, and absolutely adores affection. Chin scratches, snuggles, and even belly rubs are some of her favorite things.
She’s also becoming very comfortable with new people. She was recently handed to a first-time visitor, and instead of being nervous, she happily melted into their arms for cuddles. She’s blossoming into a sweet, affectionate kitten and continues to gain confidence every day.
I am not currently at the shelter because I’m growing big and strong in a foster home! *Staff thinks I will be ready by late July.*
You can sign up to pre-adopt me by placing a $50 choice hold. This is a non-refundable fee that does not go towards my adoption fee, but it does give you the first opportunity to adopt me. Shelter staff will contact you when I’m ready to go home with my new family! To place a choice hold, you can either come into the shelter or call us at 719-302-8707; you may wait to speak with a customer service representative or leave a voicemail. Choice holds are placed on a first-come, first-serve basis and only one choice hold can be placed per animal.
Once I am old enough to go home, I will have to be adopted at the shelter without a visit. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to visit while I’m in the foster home as it’s a lot of stress on me to be transported back and forth to the shelter for visits, which makes me more susceptible to getting sick. I want to be healthy for our new life together!
