Veterinary Services

Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region’s Wesley V. Metzler Surgery Center is the only shelter facility in Colorado accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association. Our full-time onsite licensed veterinary staff completes a rigorous review of protocols and medical equipment and a facility inspection to maintain the esteemed designation. Our highly skilled team performs thousands of surgeries and procedures every year – ranging from spays and neuters to emergency surgeries such as leg amputations to radiographs and dental surgeries. They also provide general wellness and diagnostic testing for the animals in HSPPR’s care, as well as limited services for owned pets in the communities we serve.
