Claire is a sweet, gentle cat who takes a little time to warm up to new people. She may be shy at first and prefer to keep her distance, but with patience and a calm approach, she’ll soon show her affectionate side. Once she trusts you, Claire loves being brushed, enjoys scratches on her belly and at the base of her tail, and can’t resist a fun laser pointer session or a little catnip. One of her favorite cozy spots is sleeping tucked away in a cupboard! She isn’t a fan of having her cheeks rubbed, and she’ll appreciate having plenty of appropriate scratching posts to keep her happy and your furniture safe. Claire has lived successfully with gentle children ages 2–8, as well as dogs, cats, fish, and reptiles, making her a wonderful addition to many different types of households. She has always been an indoor-only cat and is looking for a patient family that will give her the time she needs to blossom into a loving companion.
Inquiries are answered in the order received, and the foster parent will let you know your place in line if there are other interested adopters.
A meet-and-greet is required before adoption. Adopters should be available to meet within 48 hours of inquiring; otherwise, preference may be given to the next person in line who can meet sooner.
For everyone’s safety, current pets are not able to meet the foster animal before adoption.
After the meet-and-greet, you will have 24 hours to visit the HSPPR Adoptions Lobby (11:00am–4:30pm) to complete paperwork and finalize the adoption.
