Alex is a friendly, social dog who loves meeting new people and has lived with a 12-year-old child and a cat. He is not crate trained and a true escape artist who has learned to open doors, gates, and locks and has chewed through fencing to get out. When left loose in the home, he will get into the trash, eat the cat’s food, and is not potty trained. Alex previously lived on a ranch where his job was protecting pigs from bears, often sleeping in a horse stall. He would thrive returning to that type of environment. Alex is looking for a working ranch or large rural property where he can safely put his natural guardian instincts to use, with plenty of space to roam and people who understand livestock guardian breeds. His previous owner’s truly believe that returning to the lifestyle he was bred for would be the happiest and safest outcome for him.
