Get to know me

**Still somewhat nervous when approached – please approach slowly **
** Still working on being picked up and held not quite there yet **

Chilly will need ample time to adjust to her new home. Placing her in a quiet sanctuary room with food, water, a bed, toys, a scratching post/board, and litter boxes will help her adapt. The room should include hiding places as well as a few perches where she can feel safe and observe her surroundings. Once Chilly has acclimated to the room, you can begin a slow introduction to other animals and the rest of the house. She will require extra time and support to feel safe and comfortable in new home. She may not settle in right away, but with plenty of patience during this transition she will truly blossom. Chilly would do best with savvy adopters who are happy to give her space and celebrate the small milestones along the way.

I’m currently in a loving foster home offsite! Please contact my foster parent, Laura, at ljh1966@hotmail.com to inquire about me or set up a visit! Please allow up to 24 hours for my foster parent to respond.

Inquiries are answered in the order received, and the foster parent will let you know your place in line if there are other interested adopters.

A meet-and-greet is required before adoption. Adopters should be available to meet within 48 hours of inquiring; otherwise, preference may be given to the next person in line who can meet sooner.

For everyone’s safety, current pets are not able to meet the foster animal before adoption.

After the meet-and-greet, you will have 24 hours to visit the HSPPR Adoptions Lobby (11:00am–4:30pm) to complete paperwork and finalize the adoption.

Markings: Ambassador; not in shelter

Scam Alert

The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region has experienced a scam in which people missing their pets receive phone calls from someone pretending to represent our shelter and requesting payment over the phone. Please be aware that HSPPR will never request payment over the phone or through Venmo before returning your pet. We will also never ask you to send verification codes or mention anything about pet trackers on Instagram, WhatsApp, or other messaging platforms. If you receive a suspicious call, do not share any personal information. Instead, visit our Admissions office and speak with a staff member in person to verify any claims.

Woof, we’re having technical difficulties!

Unfortunately we can’t display our adoptable pets right now due to a technical issue. Don’t worry – all our furry friends are safe and waiting to meet you at the shelter! Please visit us in person to find your perfect match.
