Maverick is the sweetest kitty and LOVES climbing onto the very top of his little cactus cat tree and jumping off! Very social and curious, loves attention, being held, and playing with his siblings. He has been around resident cats a time or two and didn’t seem to mind, but will need slow introductions to other cats or dogs. Has been with momma since he was born, so already uses the litter box like a pro, eats mostly dry Hills Science diet kitten food now since weaned from momma,but also loves the wet kitten food!
I am not currently at the shelter because I’m growing big and strong in a foster home! *Staff thinks I will be ready by early-mid June*.
You can sign up to pre-adopt me by placing a $50 choice hold. This is a non-refundable fee that does not go towards my adoption fee, but it does give you the first opportunity to adopt me. Shelter staff will contact you when I’m ready to go home with my new family! To place a choice hold, you can either come into the shelter or call us at 719-302-8707; you may wait to speak with a customer service representative or leave a voicemail. Choice holds are placed on a first-come, first-serve basis and only one choice hold can be placed per animal.
Once I am old enough to go home, I will have to be adopted at the shelter without a visit. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to visit while I’m in the foster home as it’s a lot of stress on me to be transported back and forth to the shelter for visits, which makes me more susceptible to getting sick. I want to be healthy for our new life together!
