Meet Vivi! This young Border Collie mix is bursting with energy, intelligence, and enthusiasm for life! She is looking for an active family that understands the needs of a working breed and is excited to provide plenty of exercise, enrichment, and training to help her thrive. Vivi is happiest when she has something to do. While she enjoys long walks, she will also benefit from daily mental stimulation that gives her busy mind an outlet. Like many young herding breeds, she can become very focused on movement. On walks she may pull toward moving cars, and in the home, she has chased and nipped at the young children. Because of this, Vivi needs a mature home.
Vivi has lived with another small dog but was very persistent about trying to play, often following and crowding the smaller dog despite its attempts to disengage. She also has a strong tendency to fixate on small animals, so she is best suited for a home without small dogs, cats, or other small animals. She would benefit from slow introductions to appropriately matched canine companions if her new family has another dog. Training classes are strongly recommended to help Vivi build impulse control, learn to settle, and channel her natural instincts into appropriate outlets.
