Duchess is a sweet, lovely girl who’s ready to find her forever home! She’s a little shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, she’s happy to be held and showered with affection.
Because she’s smaller and more gentle than her siblings, she sometimes gets picked on, so her future family will need to help her build confidence and develop her playful side.
Duchess would likely thrive in a calm, loving home with a small family where she can feel safe and continue coming out of her shell. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion who just needs a little patience and encouragement to blossom, Duchess may be your girl!

You can sign up to pre-adopt me by placing a $50 choice hold. This is a non-refundable fee that does not go towards my adoption fee, but it does give you the first opportunity to adopt me. Shelter staff will contact you when I’m ready to go home with my new family! To place a choice hold, you can either come into the shelter or call us at 719-302-8707; you may wait to speak with a customer service representative or leave a voicemail. Choice holds are placed on a first-come, first-serve basis and only one choice hold can be placed per animal.
Unfortunately, we aren’t able to visit while I’m in the foster home as it’s a lot of stress on me to be transported back and forth to the shelter for visits, which makes me more susceptible to getting sick. I want to be healthy for our new life together!
