Camp Whiskers & Wags
Where kids and critters become friends
Our summer day camps for children ages 5-15 years old help foster compassion and respect for animals. Camps include age-appropriate and engaging activities, educational and interactive lessons, and daily hands-on visits with animals of all shapes and sizes. Camp Whiskers & Wags is licensed through Colorado Department of Human Services, Division of Child Care.

Registration opens on Tuesday, April 7 at 6:30 p.m.
Please note: Each child may be registered for only one camp session to ensure more families have the opportunity to participate.
Pet Pals
June 8-9 and 11-12
A two day camp from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Open to ages 5 to 7
Designed for children in Kindergarten and First Grade
Fee: $150 Per Camper
Pet Pals is all about boosting self-confidence and nurturing compassion through the joy of learning to love and respect animals. Campers will dive into fun activities like caring for and safely handling animals, creating adorable crafts, learning catchy songs, and playing each day! They’ll whip up tasty treats for small mammals and dogs, meet animal experts, and discover the wonderful world of pets — all while making new human and furry besties. Plus, the cherry on top? Campers get to name an adoptable animal, leaving their paw-some mark on a future pet’s journey to a new home!
Furry Friends
June 15-18 and July 20-23
Four-day camp running Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Open to ages 7 to 9
Designed for children entering 2nd and 3rd Grade
Fee: $275 Per Camper
Perfect for young animal enthusiasts, Furry Friends is a paws-itively amazing way for kids to connect with all kinds of animals here at The Humane Society! Campers will learn about animal communication and care, building special bonds with creatures big and small—from playful pups and cuddly cats to curious reptiles and bouncy bunnies. They’ll work alongside HSPPR's behavior team, meet adorable foster animals, and enjoy creative projects like making tasty treats and fun toys. With games, hands-on activities, and plenty of new friendships (both human and furry), this camp is a tail-wagging good time!
Creative Critters
June 22-25 and July 27-30
Four-day camp running Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Designed for children entering 3rd and 4th Grade
July 27-30 open to ages 10-14
Designed for children entering 5th to 8th Grade
Fee: $275 Per Camper
Perfect for kids who adore animals and have a creative spark, this camp brings together art and animal interactions for a truly one-of-a-kind experience! Campers will explore different art forms like painting, 3D creations, and printmaking, all while helping advocate for the animals at HSPPR. Each project will support our furry friends searching for their new homes, and campers will leave with a heart full of memories and their very own collection of animal-inspired masterpieces. All materials are provided—just bring your imagination and love for animals!
Beginning Animal Science
June 29-July 2 and July 13-16
Four-day camp running Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Open to ages 9 to 12
Designed for children entering 4th and 5th Grade
Fee: $275 Per Camper
Calling all budding veterinarians and animal science enthusiasts! This exciting academic camp is perfect for elementary school students who want to dive into the fascinating world of animal care, veterinary medicine, and animal science. Through hands-on activities, interactive labs, and engaging lessons, campers will get a behind the scenes look at HSPPR’s clinic, meet animal experts, discover how to keep pets healthy, and discover many other aspects of animal care. It’s a tail-wagging adventure in science and discovery!
Advanced Animal Science
July 7-10
Four-day camp running Tuesday through Friday,
9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Open to ages 12 to 15
Designed for Middle School students
Fee: $275 Per Camper

Junior Counselor Applications
Are you a high school student who loves animals and enjoys working with kids?
Join Camp Whiskers and Wags as a Junior Counselor and make a difference while gaining valuable experience!
What You'll Do:
- Assist with fun activities for campers and lead exciting games
- Gain hands-on experience working with shelter animals
- Develop leadership and teamwork skills
- Earn volunteer hours for school or extracurriculars
